Yes, just use the Img tag just above the text box. Please watch for size though. I was going to post a picture of my cat and it was insanely huge. I was lazy and figured I would adjust it later. :D

    Happy dance!

Here's Pookie, I have him since I was about 21, so in a way I grew up with him, lol (I was a very immature 21), he's thirteen now. One of my sister's dogs found him crying and lost in some bushes, so I took him in. He was only a teeny weeny then and I was supposed to be finding a home for him, he was even advertised in a local paper, but I fell in love and hastily withdrew the ad. He had two eyes originally but he's an indoor/outdoor cat and although he's neutered he's still a warrior tom out fighting regularly. One day he came back with a scar on his left eye and I brought him to the vets. He struggled with it for years, getting reinfected (despite antibiotics) and it was horrifically painful for him, so it was decided that ultimately, before he got any older it would be better if the eye was removed. So it was and once he got over the trauma of the op and the recovery he was much happier.

Aw, that's a sweet story about Pookie. Rescue animals have a special place in my heart. Well, all animals do. Outdoor cats roughly have half the lifespan of indoor cats so it's really quite amazing that he is 13! He's a pretty boy and looks really sweet.

This is my cat Guy. He looks unhappy but that was just because I made him stand there for the picture. He's a weirdo who loves to wear hats. Yes, seriously.

I adopted him when he was 2 years old according to the shelter. They had his name as 'Bear' (He's nearly 20 pounds but that's not fat) because he was so big. I had just lost another cat who was special needs so I wanted to adopt an adult cat since few do.

Thanks Harpy, I'll tell him he got compliments, he loves to hear that :)

Guy is gorgeous! He reminds me of a cat I had who died young, she was called kd after kd lang, from the days when we only really had kd lang and a few others out of the closet. The younger folks have so many more role models these days, which is a good thing :). Guy likes to wear hats! That is weird for a cat! Lol.

It is very important that people take in adult pets too, everyone wants the puppies or kittens, good for you :) .

I should have said Pookie is an indoor/outdoor cat, he has a catflap, so he can come and go, I wouldn't just lock him out! Couldn't sleep thinking everyone will think I'm mean to Pookie, so I put the laptop back on to write this, lol. Now I can go back asleep....Goodnight!

Hehe, I didn't think anything wrong of it. I prefer my cats be only indoor cats but the other cat I have is a stray I took in and she goes in and out - But is always in at night. She's a pain the ass - So often climbing way, way up to the top of the kitchen cabinets just 1 foot from the ceiling. Grr.

Oh I love pain in the ass cats, they're so funny! We had a right weirdo cat in our family at one stage, you name it he did it, and he lived to wind the other cats up, waiting behind corners for them all the time, or under beds, he was a specialist at it, he was soooo funny, but could be very frustrating at times, especially when he'd pick on our old lady cat, she was so jumpy and nervous that he got an extra kick out of that  . His name was Willow, he died of leukemia, I must post him here as a tribute to the little dark lord, as I sometimes called him (yes he was thatbad!).

You should be able to embed them here, Just Me, but not upload. So you have to host them first and then use the [IMG]

Cute pups, Ginney. They look content with each other. :)

So, this thread has died so how about some pet stories?

Seeing as I have never been without a cat in 37 years, I have a lot.

My family had this summer cabin we would go to on the weekends and I would normally bring my cat, Friskey. I was 12 or 13 at the time of this story.

So that weekend, on Sunday. we couldn't find her. Seeing as we were in a tiny cabin and she was nowhere to be seen, it was assumed she ran out at some point. So we spent the entire day looking for her. Calling. Driving around. I remember seeing a Tabby crossing the road ahead of us and thought it might be her. But nothing came of it.

I had school the next day and after spending that day looking for her, my parents told me we couldn't wait any longer to start the drive home. My grandfather and his friend were there also that weekend and were staying longer so they said they would keep an eye out for her.

I was completely devastated and heart-broken. I ran into the bathroom and started crying; trying to delay the inevitable.

As I was crying in there I heard a *Scratch* *Scratch* from the linen closet. I opened it up and there was Friskey! I grabbed her and ran to the bed clutching and hugging her. I was crying so much everyone was afraid I had found her dead.

    I had Friskey until I was 28. :)

    * BTW, we had checked the closets before, apparently not good enough.

This story is from when I was about 18 maybe, I'm not sure exactly. But I was away from home partying in Las Vegas so it's from what my mom told me.

Ma was asleep in bed when she was awoken by my cat Xena fussing around with a plastic bag in her room. Mind you, Xena for all her life, was terrified of plastic bags. I guess Ma told her to stop, shooed her out of the room, or got up and put the bag on the dresser. A few minutes later Xena was messing with that bag again. I'm not sure how many times she kept messing with the bag but mom finally got up, put it away somewhere and then went to the adjoining bathroom.

In her bathroom, my other cat, Peach, had somehow managed to get his head stuck between the window frame and the window screen. You know, the part where the window is opened fully and there's a small gap between the frame and the frame of the screen?

She was able to free him and set him on the floor in her room where he remained unmoving. She petted him for a long time but he was in shock, I assume, and just laid there. Eventually she had to go back to bed.

In the end he was okay, but I firmly believe Xena saved him by intentionally waking mom up. Peach followed my mom around for days after. And Xena never messed with plastic bags again. ;)

Wow, that was a great story Harps :) . I believe she did it too, cats are very sensitive, intelligent creatures, and if she knew something was wrong I can totally see her doing something to get human attention. Pookie just scratches my eyes to wake me though :|

When Pookie was about six months old he got stuck up a pine tree. He wouldn't budge and I spent all day trying to get him down, but nothing doing. Eventually I hauled the trunk of another fallen tree over and propped it against the tree Pooks was stuck in. Then he walked straight down, hehe. Just one of our adventures, not a great story, but we like it :D
