I’m a happily married lesbian. I would never cheat. A situation at work has been confusing lately. Now before you jump to conclusions, I am not thinking of having an affair! There is a woman at work who we will call L. L and I have become friendly. There is chemistry there but I don’t know if she’s gay. Another work colleague called S has been joking that we come into work together on a morning and insinuating something is happening between us. (L quite often gets the same bus as me). Yesterday, some of my other colleagues made jokes. They are light heartened but I’m worried that now L may have heard these comments and it will make her feel uncomfortable. I’ve told S to back off and that I’m happily married a few times but he still makes comments. Should I approach L about this next time I see her? Or let it go or tell management? I’m worried L may feel uncomfortable. I have a feeling she may be gay and struggling so I dont want to corner her.

Stay far away from L on this one and do not bring it up. If she needs to talk to someone AND feels comfortable enough to talk to someone she will approach you. The person you can do your part to shut down is S and his work place lesbian porn video fantasy. Next time he says anything tell him seriously that is is getting old, like dude, joke’s getting old. Don’t smile or laugh if any comments come up and just keep an annoyed face and don’t give any fuel to it. S is being inappropriate.
