When posts get "old"...

    Believe it or not, I just commented on an AfterEllen Book Club post from last July - Jill Guccini's post about Annie on my Mind in memory of Nancy Garden who passed away around that time (and I did only just read, within the last few weeks, that she had passed.)

    Will Ms. Guccini (or the other posters who replied) receive any kind of notification that new comments have been posted?

    Only if they've opted to be notified about new comments in that post.

    Did you receive a notification that this new comment has been added?

    Whether or not the OP receives notifications, I like it when people reply even to older posts, because they usually add something interesting to the post-versation, and then when I come along at some later date and read it all for the first time, it's all "current" to me.

    I comment on older posts a lot, because that seems to send them back to the top of the thread list, which can make folks notice them again.
