Thanks for your note. The event has a Yale alumni affiliation, because (1) it is organized by Yale GALA, Inc. - Yale's LGBTQ Alumni Group and (2) it is hosted by The Yale Club, which is an elegant, members-only club, not open to the public (except through the Yale GALA RSVP list, which will place you on the Guest List for entry through Security-IF you fill out the form).

But everyone knows that Yale and the Ivy League don't have a monopoly on smarts, so it is Ivy Plus and open to "all smart women", and I was hoping people might self-select (and/or Ivy-Plus women could certainly read AfterEllen.com). The event is about half Ivy League and half not -- and it is a welcoming group.

The annual event is in its 10th year and always attracts a vibrant crowd of women. The cost ($45, $20 for students any school with student ID) is reasonable for a 3-hour open bar and tasty and diverse food buffet, in an upscale Midtown location. Neither Yale GALA, Inc. nor I make any $ on the event; we run a series of LBT women's events in NYC free, at-cost or for charity.

AfterEllen.com did a write-up on this event, a few years ago, which is why I posted here.

    Take care
